Would you give your seat up on the skytrain to someone who is pregnant if you’re sitting in the seats designated for ‘elderly, expecting mothers, or new mothers?’

So today I went to another store to pick up something, and I rode on the skytrain both ways. Now I’m not one of those pregnant ladies who believe that the world should revolve around my belly, but I was shocked that no one offered me a seat. Yes, I could have asked for one, and people might have given me one, but it was only 2 stations so I didn’t really need a seat bad enough to ask for one. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I would expect that if you aren’t elderly, or carrying a kid in your arms or something, that you would offer your seat to someone in need (aka someone who does have a kid in their arms or belly, or an elderly person.) ESPECIALLY if she’s standing right in front of you and you happen to be sitting in one of the only two seats on the train that are clearly marked ‘Reserved for the elderly, pregnant mothers, or new mothers.’ I’m 7 months pregnant .. my baby bump looks decidedly like a baby bump .. not the obscure ‘is the fat or expecting’ stage. And it wasn’t just one way.. it was both directions. Four different people. Seriously  .. I do have to admit that they had guts.

My only regret is that I thought it would be too rude to take pictures of them.

Sadly it doesn’t take guts, people are just so wrapped up in what they want and in themselves that they dont’ give a damn about anyone else.
